Wi-Fi Security is the range of activities that are involved in protecting wireless networks from hostile or unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.

Some of these security measures and protocols include:

  • Encrypting data transmitted across wireless networks
  • Using secure passwords and authentication methods, such as multi-factor authentication
  • Monitoring and managing access points and connected devices

In practice, the purpose of Wi-Fi security is to safeguard the sensitive information of individuals and/or organizations, offering safe internet access and helping prevent malicious activities that range from hacking to data theft. All of this reduces the overall risk of cyber threats to organizations and individuals while maintaining the integrity of network infrastructure.
